Job Description

We are seeking highly motivated and creative Network Engineers who are proficient in all aspects of networking. You will work on one of the worlds largest internet sites spanning 70 plus locations world wide. Responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining critical systems, participating in capacity planning reviews, owning the improvement of our network operations, interacting with internal customers and team members, and providing critical on-call technical support and technical consultation to our internal customers.
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar environment, excellent IP networking fundamentals, in-depth knowledge of and experience with major internet routing protocols, excellent network analysis fundamentals, strong Unix skills, and robust troubleshooting skills, The ability to script in Perl, shell, or C is highly desired. This position also requires strong interpersonal skills and a successful track record of coordinating and driving issues to resolution. Candidates should also have had significant past experience with and expertise in many of the following protocols & technologies: WDM, T1, SONET, 802.11, STP, IP, TCP (internals), BGP, OSPF, HSRP, PIMv2, IGMP, LDP, MPLS, STP, IPSEC, netflow, DNS, HTTP. Experience configuring load balancers, troubleshooting, traffic engineering using BGP and large scale network design and maintenance is critical. Experience with mission critical multicast systems and L2 and L3 highly desired. Please expect a rigorous interview process.
Some Job Responsibilities
* Drive requirements for scalable network designs and solutions.
* Develop policies and procedures for day-to-day network maintenance.
* Research, Identify and evaluate network tools and technologies.
* Lead and support implementation of a growing network infrastructure.
* Plan and execute routine network maintenances while minimizing risk of downtime.
* Participate in rotating on call schedule.
Job Requirements
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Creative problem solving abilities.
* Experience with standard network change management and configuration policies.
* Experience with LAN management (switching, VLANs, 802.1q).
* Experience with routing protocols: e.g. OSPF, IS-IS, BGP.
* Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP protocols.
* Experience with Unix/Linux administration is a plus.
* Knowledge of network monitoring and other network administrative tools.
* Flexibility regarding on-call responsibilities.
* Network certification (or equivalent training/experience) preferred. (CCNP, CCIE).
* 4 year college degree (BA or BS) or equivalent work experience
* Work experience in a service provider preferred
