The Company is a high net worth, privately-held, unique technology firm focused on providing world-class highly-available infrastructure running enterprise and music/entertainment applications.
Essential Functions
Key player in the network department with responsibility to administer, maintain and support the company’s hardware and software business applications in the area of data and voice networks, security, and monitoring. Specialized technical knowledge and skills across many applications and platforms, including design, testing, technical writing, and other skills required to architect, standardize, implement, monitor and support voice, data and video networks.
Educational Qualifications
• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering discipline preferred
• Relevant industry certifications preferred
Major Responsibilities
• 5+ years proven support and troubleshooting experience of complex highly-available redundant networks, specifically with Cisco routers, switches and firewalls.
• Extensive experience and configuration with Cisco IOS, routers, VPN concentrators, Catalyst switches, PIX firewalls and CSS load balancers.
• Thorough understanding and demonstrated experience in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and TACACS+/RADIUS, EIGRP, OSPF and BGP routing protocols.
• Experience with various business-class and consumer-class WAN transports including DS3, T1, cable modem, DSL, wireless and microwave.
• Good knowledge of various internetworking concepts such as SNMP, PPP, HSRP, NAT, IPSec, CEF, Ether Channel, bonding, load balancing and ATM.
• Solid knowledge in LAN, WAN, MAN, VPN and network security technologies.
• Experience in a large multicasting, QoS, MPLS, and VPN environment
• Strong knowledge of 802.11 wireless protocols and security
• Extensive knowledge of network security design and best practices; intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and port-level authentication
• Hands-on experience with IP Telephony systems, Cisco Call Manager, Unified Messaging, Cisco IPCC, and Call Center Systems.
• management/analysis tools such as CiscoWorks, MRTG, Sniffer, Nagios, BMC, etc.
• Proven experience in providing support after hours (7 x 24)
• Ability to document designs and implementations in detail.
• Proven ability to work with highly demanding executives
• Proactive, friendly, respectful, responsive, accurate, to users and customers with impeccable follow-through and communication.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize
• Ability to work long hours and meet deadlines
Additional Desirable Experience:
• Cisco CCNP certified (or equivalent) with 5 years deep technical knowledge of Layer-2, and Layer-3 technologies
• Other networking certifications such as SCP, SCM, MCSE, MCP, Network+
• Experience with Windows 2000/2003, Active Directory, IIS, Linux, DNS, FTP and SMTP
• Experience or knowledge supporting VOIP phone switches, auto attendants, voicemail systems and wireless phones a plus
• Load balancing technologies
• H.323 Video Conferencing (Polycom)
