Network Security Engineer
This position is full-time and located in the Chicago loop office.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a rapidly growing infrastructure security team. The selected individual will play a key role in shaping the direction of the technology and tools used in restructuring the security operations.

Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the engineering and 2nd level support of
our Infrastructure Security Networks. This person will be responsible for
the following functions:
• Specifications, design and analyses of security infrastructure
architecture.
• Lead development and implementation of new security technology and
systems.
• Establishing and maintaining security policy, standards and practices.
Perform and lead vulnerability assessments.
• Provide 2nd – 3rd level security incident investigation and liaison to
Incident Response Office and/or customers.
Additional responsibilities include managing repair of services,
researching new technology, risk assessment, and vulnerability mitigation.
Other duties include leading operational surveillance and investigation of
the infrastructure for fault recognition and security vulnerabilities,
implementation of technology and systems, and contributing to establishing
and maintaining security standards using best practices, and documentation of
infrastructure security environment and activities.
Requirements:
• 4+ years of related information security work experience
• Ability to design and recommend solutions or processes
• Advanced to Expert understanding of TCPIP protocol, Ethernet Topology, Switches and Routers, Services (DNS, FTP, SNMP, etc), Packet Tracing
• Strong knowledge of Firewalls (Checkpoint and/or Cisco)
• Advanced level understanding of 2 or more systems (Microsoft, Novell, Unix, etc.) - ability to harden & security certify 1
• Understanding of Load Balancing (specifically F5 products)
• Strong PM, Negotiating, and Liaison Skills
• Security DID - Advanced to Design level understanding of 3 or more tools including advanced working knowledge of 1 – ability to evaluate and recommend new solutions
• Plusses would be any of the following:
2nd Level Security Event Problem Resolution
Basic Forensic Analysis
Knowledge of one or more Network Scanning Tools
Ethical Hacker Certification
Wireless Networking Security Experience
IDS Monitoring & Event Correlation – experience with Enterasys Dragon or eSecurity significant plus
HIPAA compliance experience
