Sr. System Engineer Position
Mid-size NY Law Firm has an opening for an experienced Sr. Network Engineer who will report to the Manager of Network Operations. This senior-level technical position is generally responsible for all network hardware and software support. This includes: monitoring performance levels of all network servers, switches and routers, as well as emergency problem solving and longer-term network design and planning.
As part of the network engineering team, you will be expected to provide network upgrades (both physical and logical), new and project orientated installation and commissioning tasks. Must also be available for scheduled weekend maintenance work and participate in 24/7 on call beeper coverage rotation with 4 other team members.
Ideally looking for someone with 6-10 yrs. stable networking and systems work experience. Strong operating system administration and security experience, specifically Win 2000. Hands-on experience using Cisco and other networking products, including communications and routing equipment which includes W2K/E2K. Experience building Proliant servers, including Insight Manager engineering. Understanding of Exchange messaging and SMTP gateways. Experience with Cisco infrastructure, (Cisco 6509 VLAN skill set is a requirement) Clarion SAN, SQL server. Also, another major requirement is the ability to communicate well, share knowledge and contribute to an evolving environment.
