Sr. Network Engineer
The Company provides technology related research, solutions and support to the business enterprises and to selected business partners of a high profile technology entrepreneur.
Essential Functions
Key player in the network department with responsibility to design, develop, maintain, and support the company?s hardware and software business applications in the area of data and voice networks, security, and monitoring. Candidate will build and lead a team; project manage from inception to finish; assess, mitigate and provide contingency plans for risk; be highly organized, a motivated self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Candidate should possess:
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering discipline or Information System.
- Certification such as CCIE or related educational experience in Layer-2 and Layer-3 technologies and the three disciplines of routing/switching, voice, and security is highly desired.
- 7+ years experience designing, implementing and supporting complex highly-available redundant networks, specifically with Cisco routers, switches and firewalls.
- 2+ years systems administration at a minimum of junior administrator level.
- Desired but not required are capabilities with Cisco CCIE or CCNP in routing/switching, voice and security; experience supporting VOIP phone switches, auto attendants, voicemail systems and wireless phones a plus; knowledge of Windows 2000/2003, Active Directory, IIS, Linux, DNS, FTP and SMTP a plus. Hands-on experience with IP Telephony systems, Cisco Call Manager, Unified Messaging, Cisco IPCC, and Call Center Systems.
- Knowledge of MS Office.
- H.323 Video Conferencing (Polycom).
- Strong experience in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and TACACS/RADIUS.
- Thorough understanding/experience on at least three of the routing protocols: RIP, IGRP, EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP.
- Solid knowledge in LAN, WAN, MAN, VPN and network security technologies.
- Experience in Multicasting, QOS, MPLS, and VPN.
- Experience in WAN Transport using ATM, Frame Relay, Cable, Wireless, SONET and DWDM.
- Good knowledge of various internetworking concepts such as SNMP, PPP, HSRP, NAT, IPSec, CEF, EtherChannel, bonding, load balancing and ATM.
- Strong knowledge of 802.11 wireless protocols and authentication.
- Strong experience in network security audit, policy and security devices (e.g. VPN concentrators, firewall, access policies).
- Extensive knowledge of network security design and best practices; Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
- Proficient knowledge and experience with network and systems management/analysis tools such as HP OpenView, IBM NetView/Tivoli/Director, Cisco Works, MRTG, Smatrs, IPMonitor, Distributed Sniffer, NetScout nGenious Performance Manager, Concord Performance Manager, etc.
